How a Dodger Game Killed My Back...

How was your weekend? Mine was pretty busy.

On Saturday we went to a Dodger game.

More on the Dodger game in a minute...

On Sunday Liam had a Birthday party to attend at Chuck E. Cheese.

It was his first time going to Chuck E. Cheese and he was so ecstatic. He had seen commercials on TV and he would scream, "Mommy, mommy, mommy! Chuck E. Cheese!!!" I told him on Saturday night before bed that the following day he would be going to CEC and he was so excited that he went and told Oscar, "Daddy! I'm going to Chuck E. Cheese tomorrow!" Of course, like any good parent, I used Chuck E. Cheese as a carrot and told him that he would need to behave in order to go...lol. Yes, at this point, I'll use anything to make him behave.

While we were at Chuck E. Cheese, I was in a TON of pain because of the day before. We went to an afternoon Dodger game on Saturday and we had really good seats.

During one of the innings, Liam had to go to the bathroom. I took him up to the restrooms and on our way back he refused to go down the stairs. He's been to a game before and he was fine when we got there, but for some reason he just didn't want to go down the stairs. At this point, we were at the top of the stairs with a crowd of people behind us waiting to use the stairs as well. Instead of stepping aside and letting them pass, I picked Liam up and took him down the stairs myself.

BIG! BIG! BIG! Mistake.

I screwed up my back. I've been in pain ever since. It feels like my sciatica nerve is pissed off. I tried taking ibuprofen, but it didn't work. The only thing that feels good is bringing my knees up to my chest while laying on my back. Tonight, I am planning on doing some stretches and some walking on my treadmill. I hope this helps and doesn't aggravate it even more. I don't want to lay down longer than I have to because it really makes the pain worse when I get up. I think I just need to keep the muscles around the nerve loose.

So yeah, I made a HUGE mistake and picked up my 50lb. Baby Huey of a son. I think this will be the last time I ever pick him up. He's not a baby anymore...
